Understanding Charter Pricing

Hourly Rate

The base cost of chartering a private jet is calculated by the hour. Rates vary by aircraft size: light jets run $3,500-5,500/hr while ultra-long-range jets can exceed $14,000/hr.

Fixed Fees

Landing fees ($250-800), FBO handling ($300-500), crew overnight costs, and the 7.5% federal excise tax are added on top of the hourly charter rate.

Seasonal Demand

Prices fluctuate 20-80% based on season and events. Ski season, Cannes Film Festival, and holiday weekends command premium rates across all aircraft types.

Empty Leg Savings

When an aircraft needs to reposition empty, operators sell those flights at 25-75% off. These deals are time-sensitive and route-specific — our estimates show typical savings.
